a month later...

and things are both settling down and getting considerably more exciting/terrifying.

This my friends is the house that B and I bought :-)  Well, more accurately, are in process of buying. We are really, really excited to have our first home! Baby boy is excited too I'm pretty sure.  He definitely liked crawling around in the empty living room at the least.

So, now the blog will likely be filled for awhile with house updates -- until there is something more exciting to report at least :-)

we made it

Without too much pulling of hair or gnashing of teeth we made the trek back to the midwest.  We were able to spend the Christmas holiday weekend with family and it was very, very nice.  Then the Monday after Christmas B and I both started our new jobs.  Since B is floating he doesn't have a set schedule yet which is not ideal especially for trying to plan things with the bambino but at least we have his parents here to help out.

This weekend we are keeping it pretty low key - although B has to work tomorrow, his parents and the babe and I are going to go to an open house for one of the homes we found online and Sunday we will be going to the Bears game so that will be a lot of fun :-) I'm excited to be looking for our first house.  I am looking forward to having something that is really ours and that has plenty of room for us to grow into.  I want to decorate and maybe even paint some walls! It just all seems kind of surreal at this point but we are settling into something of a routine I think.  A couple more weeks and I think we'll have things pretty much under control (I hope).
